Things children love

My children are in their late teens. As I look back at their younger years, I remember noticing certain commonalities in things children love. For your convenience, I have complied a short list:

1. Blowing and popping bubbles.

2. Sleeping on the top bunk.

3. Making a ‘robot voice’ by speaking into a pedestal fan.

4. Blowing out candles – normally with eyes wide open and eyebrows raised.

5. Picking their noses.

6. Patting furry pets.

7. Pointing at rainbows (in the sky, that is).

8. Dancing or roughhousing with friends.

9. Early morning cartoons.

10. Being tickled, especially slightly past the point when they say “stop!”.

11. Carrying the present from the car, when walking into the birthday parties of friends.

Thank God for children and childhood. Such precious gifts!
